Weekly sporting events run by LICS are back by popular demand! They will be hosted by Guy Meyer and will take place in the field next to ITB Afternoons on Wednesdays.
There will also be a steady supply of Freezies in the grad lounge over the summer!
There will be another student seminar, followed by a going away party for everyone in the department that is leaving this summer. These events will happen in ITB 201 starting at 2:30 PM.
For the seminar, Moni will discuss "Data and Dimension Repair for Multidimensional ontologies by record deletion". For the party happening afterwards, there will be music, snacks, and beverages along with some other surprises! Come by to see off some of the PhD and Masters students leaving this term.
Join us this Thursday for our our April Seminar followed by a Social Event (TBD) and a trip to Phoenix for end of year celebrations!
Effective Resume Writing and Job Search Strategies
Adam will be presenting on How to Write a Resume That Stands Out. The presentation will cover how best to highlight your skills and experience, so it captures the attention of HR and hiring managers. He'll also touch briefly on effective job search strategies.
Just a friendly reminder that the March student seminar will be happening TOMORROW, come join us for two talks and food/coffee. Immediately afterwards we will be heading up to University Plaza for an hour or two of bowling, completely covered by LiCS.
For bowling, we will meet in the 1st floor lobby of ITB around 3:45 and then proceed up to University Lanes. Feel free to meet us at the alley if you wont make it for the seminar!
Seminar: Thursday 2:30 PM @ ITB 225
Bowling: Thursday 4:00 PM @ University Lanes
This year a few LICS members organized the effort to decorate ITB in and around the CAS office. Here are some of the final photos.

Welcome New and Returning Graduate Students!
We will be hosting the first installment for the new school year of our recurring Student Seminar Series. In these hour-long sessions we invite fellow ITB graduate students to give a short talk (15 minutes or less) on a CS, SE or other Science and Engineering topic of their choice. All are welcome to attend and participate in these events and refreshments will be provided.
This month's seminar will be followed by a Hike-n-Pint at the Phoenix!
Join us for a short hike in Cootes Paradise, (the swamp behind campus) followed by pints and refreshments at the Phoenix.
